Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical, musculoskeletal, biochemical, and neurological disorders, particularly of the spine and the relationship these disorders play in a patient’s adverse health. The misalignment of a spinal vertebrae or joint is referred to as a subluxation.   This can cause a systemic effect from the muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and organs of the body to the central nervous system and vice versa. This effect can lead to pain, inflammation, numbness/tingling, reduced range of motion, headaches, low back pain, leg pain, arm pain, organ dysfunction, hormonal dysregulation, etc.

The chiropractic manipulation, or adjustment, refers to the corrective mechanism in which a chiropractic physician aims to correct the misalignment of a specific vertebrae or joint that is out of alignment, and allows the restoration of proper function to the system. This can be achieved by manual manipulation or by utilizing a drop table or a chiropractic adjusting instrument to gently and effectively move the vertebrae or joint back into proper alignment.
